Legal
Humans Radio is operated by Humans Presents LLC. This policy covers humanspresents.com and its subdomains, and the Humans Radio apps for iPhone and Android.
On the website:
In the Humans Radio app:
Or email us at admin@humanspresents.com from the address you signed in with, and we will delete the account for you.
You do not need an account to listen. Listening requires no sign-in and creates no account to delete.
What is deleted. Your listener account and the Apple or Google identity attached to it, your saved favourites, the shows you follow, your notification choices, your colour theme, and any chat bans or blocks on your account.
Notifications stop the moment you ask us to delete your account. The address we use to reach your phone is removed right away, not after 30 days.
What is kept, and for how long. Your account is erased within 30 days. Until then it is held so the station can restore it if you change your mind. An automatic job removes it permanently each night after that.
Two things do not go, and we would rather say so plainly than let you find out later:
We may also keep a minimal record where the law requires it, or where we need it to stop abuse of the station.
You can listen without signing in. Signing in unlocks requesting a song, chat, saving favourites, following shows, show notifications, and choosing a colour theme.
Sign-in is through Apple or Google only — in the app and on the website. We receive your name and email address from them and store those plus an account record. We never see or hold your Apple or Google password.
We no longer offer listeners a password of their own. Password sign-up has been switched off.
Station staff — DJs and the station owner — do sign in with a password, and that is a separate, staff-only system described in section 5.
If you only listen: the ordinary technical information any website receives — your IP address, the device and browser you are using, the page you asked for, the page you came from, and the time of the request — written to server logs. We keep those logs for 14 days and use them to run the station and spot abuse.
If you sign in: your name and email address from Apple or Google, and the account record tied to them.
If you request a song: the track you asked for and when.
If you use chat: your messages, the display name you posted under, that you accepted the chat rules (which version, and when), and any report you file about another participant.
When you report a problem. If you use "Report a problem" in the app, we keep what you write, the date and time, which part of the app you were in, your account (if you're signed in), your app version, your phone's operating system and model, and what was playing on the station at that moment. We use this only to find and fix the problem. We don't use it for advertising and we don't sell it. If you choose to attach a screenshot, we keep that image too. We remove hidden information like location from it, and only the station's owner can see it.
If you choose a colour theme: which theme you picked, saved to your account so it follows you to another phone.
If you follow a show: which shows you follow.
Shows you follow and your theme. If you sign in and tap "Notify me" on a show, we keep which shows you follow so we can remind you before they start. If you pick a colour theme, we keep your choice on your account so it follows you to a new phone. Both are deleted with your account.
If you turn on notifications: that you turned them on, and a push token, an address for your phone issued by Apple or Google (through our delivery service, Expo). It lets us deliver a notification to that phone. It does not tell us who you are, and it is not your phone number or a permanent phone ID. We delete it when you turn notifications off, sign out, or delete your account.
What we do not collect:
One exception, and it is not ours: www.humanspresents.com is a separate page hosted on Wix, and Wix sets its own cookies. That page is governed by Wix's own practices, not by this policy.
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and a few short-lived cookies that carry you through the sign-in process — one that protects the sign-in against forgery, one that remembers you came from the app, and one that remembers where to return you afterwards.
That is all of them. There is no advertising cookie and no third-party tracking cookie on humanspresents.com or its subdomains.
Station staff — DJs and the owner — sign in with a password to run the station.
A DJ may also enrol a phone as a trusted device. When they do:
This applies to staff only. No listener device is enrolled or identified this way.
The social and store links on our pages are ordinary links, not data flows, and our web fonts are served from our own servers.
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — see section 1. Email admin@humanspresents.com.
Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. We will honour them; write to the same address.
Humans Radio is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email admin@humanspresents.com and we will remove it.
Sign-in runs over an encrypted connection. Passwords in the staff system are stored hashed, never in plain text. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you if something happens that affects you.
If we change this policy we will update the Last updated date at the top. If the change is significant we will say so on the site.
